B. Driving in Sri Lanka
  • You must have a valid driving license, vehicle registration for the current year along with third party liability insurance.
  • Driver and the front seat passenger must wear safety belts.

  • You must follow the road signs and ride according to the signal lights.
  • Sri Lanka facilitates Left hand driving where most of the roads have two lanes only.

C. Local Driving License for Foreigners
  • To obtain a temporary driving license for a period of one month, on a foreign driving license/ International driving license it costs Rs. 1000/-
  • One-Day service charge is Rs. 500/-
  • Facility to apply for a Local Driving Licence is now available at Bandaranayake International Airport too.
  • We can help you to get the Local Driving License at a nominal service fee for the assistance. (Rs. 500/-)
